MusicBook Pro Terms of Use

Last updated: July 22, 2026

MusicBook Pro is developed by Music by Lars. By using MusicBook Pro, you agree to use the app, its website and the optional Agent Collaboration feature responsibly and in accordance with these terms and applicable law.

The service

MusicBook Pro is an Apple-native personal songwriting, songbook, setlist, rehearsal and live-performance tool. The app is free to download and offers one optional non-consumable Full Version unlock through Apple. It does not include a subscription.

Your content

You retain responsibility for the material you enter, record, import, create, store, synchronize, export, share or perform. MusicBook Pro does not claim ownership of your songs, lyrics, Ideas or Setlists.

Copyright and third-party material

MusicBook Pro can be used for original songs and cover material. You are solely responsible for having the rights, permissions, licences or other legal basis required for copyrighted material you add or use.

MusicBook Pro does not provide, sell, license, authorise or distribute third-party songs, lyrics, chords, tabs, sheet music, recordings or backing tracks. It does not grant rights to perform, reproduce, distribute, publish, share, record or monetise third-party material. Public performance, recording, distribution or sharing may require permission, reporting or licensing from rights holders, publishers, collecting societies, venues, distributors or other organisations.

You must not use MusicBook Pro to infringe intellectual-property rights, bypass authentication or paywalls, scrape protected catalogues, or obtain material you do not have the right to use.

iCloud, backups and exports

Optional private iCloud sync is intended only to keep your personal library available across your own devices. Sync does not mean that MusicBook Pro has reviewed, approved, licensed or authorised your content. You are responsible for keeping any backups you need and for reviewing files before sharing or restoring them.

Agent Collaboration

Agent Collaboration is an optional Mac feature that lets a user-approved agent service read selected MusicBook Pro text and metadata and, when separately enabled, create new Ideas or Setlists. Enabling a permission authorises access for the selected duration without a separate confirmation before every permitted request. Keep access as short as practical and disconnect it when it is no longer needed.

Connected agents are not authorised to edit or delete existing library items; access source code, generic files, shell commands, media, credentials, hidden transcripts or recovery data; or fetch protected third-party lyrics. Direct creation is limited to new Ideas and Setlists when the relevant permission is enabled. You remain responsible for reviewing agent output and for its accuracy, copyright status and suitability for rehearsal or performance.

The feature depends on your Mac, network connection, the MCP gateway, Auth0 and the selected agent provider. Availability is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted. OpenAI, Anthropic and other compatible providers have their own terms, privacy policies, retention rules and model-training settings. Those provider terms also apply to your provider account and to content you choose to send.

Acceptable use and security

Do not attempt to interfere with the service, another user's account or paired Mac, evade access controls, probe for data you are not authorised to access, or use the service for unlawful, harmful or abusive activity. Keep your device and provider accounts secure and revoke access promptly if you suspect misuse.

Availability and changes

Features may change as MusicBook Pro is improved or as Apple and connected providers change their platforms. The service is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Music by Lars does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, perfect transcription, perfect chord estimates, error-free agent output or that a particular third-party provider will remain compatible.

Privacy

The MusicBook Pro Privacy Policy explains local storage, optional sync, Agent Collaboration data flow and provider data controls.
